Hi, everyone!

As you may have noticed by now, we have been slowly but surely moving away from
SourceForge and onto our own hosting solution. Everything related to
Gaim/Pidgin is changing, so now is as good a time as any to make changes here too.

A while back, Gary set up mailing lists on our server. We're asking everyone to
move to the new lists and refer to the SourceForge archives for historical
purposes only. Sometime soon we will start unsubscribing people from our
SourceForge mailing lists to prevent their use.

One of the things we're doing now is separating the Pidgin plugin development
and commits into their own lists, to match our separate Trac environments. The
new mailing list info can be found at
http://plugins.guifications.org/trac/wiki/MailingLists and includes links to
subscribe and unsubscribe.

I have not yet set up the page for the Guifications 3 related mailing lists,
however they do exist. I will take care of this in a few hours once I've had
some sleep.

Also, in light of the rename of the Gaim project to Pidgin, we have implemented
URL rewriting rules such that gaim.guifications.org, pidgin.guifications.org,
purple.guifications.org, and finch.guifications.org all automatically take you
to plugins.guifications.org. We chose to use simply plugins for our subdomain
because we have plugins that are UI-agnostic (libpurple) and some that work with
Pidgin. We hope in the future to add plugins for Finch as well. We don't know
how long we'll hold onto these URL rewriting rules, but it is there for
convenience in transitioning to the new names.

John
