Comment:

 This is not possible within the existing Pidgin API, and we don't really
 want to copy a bunch of code from Pidgin to make this happen when we have
 no intention of adding new features anyway.

 I'm closing this ticket as "wontfix" but "cantfix" (which is not available
 in trac) applies equally well.
