 I can reproduce the part of this bug in which a buddy set to show when
 offline does not appear when no buddies in that group are online; I
 believe this was mentioned before and is due to Pidgin's behavior toward
 "empty" groups.  Stu may be able to shed more light on this, as it is his
 plugin.

 I can ''not'', however, reproduce the buddy not showing when others in the
 group are online--for me this works exactly as intended, as I see the user
 regardless of the Show Empty Groups and Show Offline Buddies preferences.
