 cause of the IRC disconnect (typically), leading to the server messages,
 but I don't see how that factors in to the plug-in's ability to recognize
 and filter server messages.

 The plugin uses a timeout, after which it won't suppress the message. This
 is a safeguard to prevent confusing results (where the plugin suppresses
 something it shouldn't).

 Did you put your password in the Nick password box or the server Password
 box?
