That's a good point. The room I am testing with on freenode is in my buddy
list with the Auto-Join option selected.

Ah, that makes sense.

No, I put my password into the usual password field on the Basic tab of
the Modify Account dialog. Prior to your mention, I didn't even notice the
"Nick password" field on the Advanced tab. Is there documentation anywhere
that explains what it is for and when you should use it? If not, and you
fill me in on the details, I'll add something to the plugin's wiki page.
Should the main password field be left blank (or cleared if it isn't
already)?
Why is it that the plugin requires this additional password field?
Internal security restrictions preventing the plugin code from accessing
the passwords? Can the plugin disable the stock field or otherwise modify
it to direct users to the other field?

Hey, proper bug ettiquite says you wait for confirmation from the OP
before closing a ticket. :-)

Doing that did indeed suppress the messages from NickServ that appear when
you go to the account manager, uncheck the enabled box, wait a few
seconds, and check it again.
However, if you exit Pidgin, and restart it, when the plugin executes the
auto-join I still get:
(02/27/08 02:06:38 PM) NickServ: (notice) Password accepted - you are now
recognized
in its own IM window. So it doesn't seem resolved.
Thanks rlaager for taking the time to debug this.
