 I would like to suggest the creation of a plugin consisting of an open bar
 inside the Buddy List window (Pidgin main window) that would enable the
 user to filter his/her contacts between each protocol of the contacts or
 combinations of those.

 For instance, I have contacts:

 @phone.im.sapo.pt
 @msn.im.sapo.pt
 @sapo.pt
 @gmail.com

 I could have this list:

 SMS
 MSN
 SAPO
 GMAIL

 with checkboxes to enable or disable the view of contacts from the
 different protocols.
 To filter SMS contacts, for example, I would only need to leave the SMS
 checkbox unchecked.
