 Works very well until I open a second window for chatting.

 E.g. #ubuntu is open and it works. /join #pidgin suddenly the background
 is black and the text is black. The only way to read anything is to
 highlight.

 It stops immediately if I turn the script off. If I turn it off and on
 again, it seems to fix the problem about half the time.
