Comment:

 An additional wrinkle to note here is that if you have '''multiple''' new
 emails, we don't have a notification for that.  If you have only a single
 new mail, then we will show a notification as expected, provided your
 loaded theme supports email notifications and you have email notifications
 enabled in the Guifications preferences as I noted in the previous
 comment.

 It looks like we may need to add yet another event for multiple emails or
 figure out how to shoehorn it in to our existing event setup.
